The Lord Is With You

Deuteronomy 31:6-8

We need to be reminded that the Lord is with us no matter what we face or experience in life. God is faithful and true to His promises. God loves us and works for good in our lives. How can we overcome our fears and turn them into faith in the Lord?

 1                    Don’t Be Afraid

Often times our biggest fears are failure and criticism and they never completely go away. You can overcome them but they will show up when the next challenges come. We must deal with fear when it comes and not run from it. We must understand that when we fail we can overcome our failures. God says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) Get out of your comfort zone and do not be afraid.

 What are you afraid of?

Do your fears keep you from experiencing all that God has for you?

How have you overcome fear?

2                    Be Determined

When Israel encountered difficulties in the wilderness, they wanted to return to their old life of slavery in Egypt. The security of the known was less threatening than the challenges of the unknown. The Lord told them to be strong and courageous for the Lord your God goes with you and He will never leave you or forsake you. The Lord goes before us to prepare the way. When you challenge your fears you overcome them and when you wrestle with your problems they lose their grip on you. Be determined and set your heart to be victorious. When you are determined to confront the things that challenge you, you open the door to a better future.

How determined are you to do what you need to do?

Who can you learn from and follow who is an overcomer?

How has God helped you overcome?

 3                    Be Devoted

Almost without exception every man and woman in the Bible whom God called to do great things felt inadequate and how did God respond to them? He said He would strengthen you and help you. He said He would hold us up with His victorious right hand. Often times our comfort zone and plans for security may stand in opposition to our vision, desires, and dreams. Commit yourself to the Lord, trust in Him, and take action. If we expect nothing we will certainly get exactly what we expect. Allow God to help you and with God on your side you have everything you need to overcome what you are lacking in life. The Lord is with you, be bold, be encouraged, and enjoy the journey.
