Spring Break has come and gone for most schools and now the final countdown is set as people begin to make plans for summer vacations. Many families are making plans for graduation ceremonies; some are starting Little League baseball, youth soccer, and many other sports activities. The fishermen are excited about the beautiful spring weather with the extended days after Daylight savings time. Some however, feel like they are flouncing like a fish out of water because they are living live at such a speed that they are just holding on and trying to survive.
The most profound need of your soul is to be still in the presence of God. Stop wrestling with your troubles or worrying about circumstances because the Lord Almighty is greater than all of them. So call a time out and get a hold of yourself. Calm your soul and refocus your attention on God. Be wise and willing to admit you have a need in your life. Stop and ask yourself the all-important question, what needs to change in my life in order to be at peace and experience the joy of the Lord?
What do you need at this time in your life?
Why not spend some time telling God about your troubles.
The Word says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” Think of his faithfulness to the saints of old, many who struggled with the same trials and fears that you do. They overcame by trusting God, and He rewarded their faith in miraculous ways. Remember Moses when He and the people of Israel were trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army, doom, death, and destruction seemed inevitable for Israel. Moses told them, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance of the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14: 13-14) You need only to be still and let the presence of the Lord flood your soul and He will fight for you!
What are you afraid of today?
Do you feel that your tank is empty?
What will it take for you to open your heart to God and let Him draw near to you?
God is real and He loves you as much as He did the saints of old. The same is true for you. The Father wants to surround you with His peace and demonstrate His power, but He will only do so as you rest in His care and release your troubles to His All-powerful hands. Why not try something new today? So let down your guard and stop striving. Let the full meaning of His presence impact you to the fullest. He is God. He loves you. He will help you. You have no reason to fear, nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Tell the Lord that He is all you need and set you heart on Him! In His presence, be still and know that He is God!
How has God brought meaning and refreshment to your soul?
